What is competitive TF2[edit source]

  • 6v6 is 2 scouts, 2 soldiers, 1 demoman, 1 medic
    • <imagery/videos of each?>
    • why this combination of classes in 6v6?
    • roles of each class, briefly -> direct to class pages
  • 9v9 is one of every class
    • roles of each class -> direct to class pages

How a competitive game is played[edit source]

<video here pls> (maybe this one eXtv: Intro to Competitive TF2)

  • logistics

      • (the Push/KOTH/AD pages better explain what the common strategies for each mode are)

I can already see the above area becoming too involved
for a getting started guide, we'd need to move this to the

  • how to think about the game
    • advantages/disadvantages
    • decision making

Preliminary thoughts[edit source]

This page should eventually become a getting started guide for competitive tf2. Not sure if we need original content, as there are a few getting started guides already out there.

Best to continue to collate them here, before an Editor summarises it all.

Not sure whether the scope of this page should be

  • Intro. to the gamemodes
  • your future tf2 career, from team to team, pugging, mixes. pubs -> lobby -> pugs? -> team
  • technical requirements

theres a lot of content to be covered...
